Saffron is the world's most expensive spice and has been used for centuries. It takes approximately 75,000 flowers to produce one pound(450 grams) of it. It is renowned for its benefits for the female reproductive system, the heart, blood, reproduction, the nervous system as well as the urinary system. It bestows upon the consumer a Sattvic* quality and promotes love and compassion. Saffron is best used raw by soaking in warm almond milk before consuming. It ideally should not be boiled. Note : Though Saffron is generally regarded as safe, please consult your Dr before taking any herb / spice. It should be avoided during pregnancy. *Sattva is quality of balance, harmony, goodness, compassion, purity. We had posted a yummy Saffron Almond milk smoothie recipe on our website recently.
