Eat Food with Maximum Prana | Yoga of Eating

If there is one thing that all living beings crave for, its vitality. Prana is a Sanskrit word whose closest translation in English is " Life Force". The ancient Indians gave the utmost reverence to prana . A verse in an Indian Scripture states

"All that exists in the three worlds rests in the control of prana. As a mother protects her children, O Prana, protect us and give us splendor and wisdom."


—Prashna Upanishad 2.13 .


Some of the ways that one can get and enhance prana in the body are through the Sun, the Earth and through Food. The fresher, locally grown the more organic the food, the more Prana it has and in turn, the more vitality we will have. If one looks at packaged food and compares the nutrition content between the two, it may be the same but Science still has not arrived where it can measure any amount of Prana. Discomfort, disease occurs when Prana is suppressed or blocked in the body.


Living foods ie fresh vegetables and fruits always enhance Prana while non living foods such as chips, biscuits, packaged foods, frozen foods, ice cream, candy diminish Prana.
