Home Made Almond Milk to Aid Sleep | Yoga of Eating


  • 1/4 cup of almonds ( soaked for 8 hours)

  • Pinch of Turmeric

  • Pinch of Saffron

  • Pinch of Ceylonese Cinnamon powder

  • Pinch of Green Cardamom Powder

  • Soaked Dates/ Raisins (optional)

Method :

Drain and discard the water from the soaked almonds. In a high-speed blender or grinder, churn the soft almonds to form a smooth paste adding a little warm water if needed. Mix in the cinnamon, saffron and blend again with some more warm water if needed, until you get the desired consistency. This drink is best consumed warm or at room temperature during the Summers. This drink is best consumed immediately.

NOTE: Ayurveda considers the skins to be heaty. One may remove the skins before blending.
