The Magic of Touch | Yoga of Eating

In the current pandemic, with quarantine and self isolation, there is a frightening increase in the amount of people feeling lonely.


According to the Office for National Statistics in the UK, the equivalent of 7.4 million people said that they were mentally affected through feeling lonely starting from the first month of the lockdown itself.


Lonely and introvert people are more likely to be struggle to find things to support and help them cope with the current situation.


Though many cultures look at physical contact very differently, touch can do magic for overall health and well being.


Though, physical touch from a loved one is hard to replace, one could take the help of a self massage. Adding essential oils such as Jasmine, Geranium, Rose, Lavender, Frankincense or Mint to the base oil ie Olive or Sesame could also do wonders to calm, refresh and rejuvenate the system.


Physical touch could help release the happy hormones such as dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin in our systems and boost our well being


There is no magical formula to replace loneliness but taking the aid of anything that will give you joy will help.
