The Digestive system functions best when it is allowed to completely digest one meal before it starts another. It is highly advised to eat up to three meals a day and no snacks in between. Also keeping a gap of 4 to 6 hours between meals is recommended . Though this gap can be different based on the needs of every individual based on the portion and kind of meals taken, if hungry, one could take some fruit in between based on his or her natural hunger impulses.
