Could Milk Cause Antibiotic Resistance | Yoga of Eating


According to The US department of Agriculture, 1 in 6 dairy cows in the United States suffers from clinical mastitis ie an infection of the udder. Clinical Mastitis is also the reason for the death of 1 in 6 dairy cows in U.S. dairy farms. Dairy farmers use antibiotics via the ready cattle feed to keep mastitis under control. These antibiotics are consumed by us via milk and may lead to antibiotic resistance leading to Doctors using higher generation antibiotics. Majority of antibiotics used in the world are fed to animals consumed for food.
