Sodium Lauryl Sulfate ie SLS is a chemical compound used as a foaming agent in toothpaste.

Around the time of World War 2 , it was used to clean grease off engines because of its abrasive corrosive properties and ability to remove the toughest stains, oils and soot.

It is considered an environmental toxin and is expected to be toxic and harmful.

SLS could irritate the mouth and strip away the lining, which can lead to canker sores

It is also used in Soaps, Shampoos, Bubble-baths , Tooth pastes, Dish soap, Laundry detergent , Childrenโ€™s soaps & shampoos, Stain remover , Carpet Cleaner, Fabric glue. Body wash , Shaving creams, Mascara, Mouthwash ,Skin cleanser, Lotion Moisturizer, Sun Screen.

Diethanolamine (DEA) is a chemical used in many products as a acidity regulator. It is used in toothpastes, soaps and shampoos.

Diethanolamine (DEA) is used as a foaming agent in toothpastes.

It is rated at a level of a full 10 under the hazard scale for being a hormone disruptor.

DEA interferes with brain development (hippocampus region) of the foetus in pregnant moms which could permanently alter memory function in offspring.

Diethanolamine is used in industrial gas purification to remove acid gases, for the production of lubricants in the textile industry, as an emulsifier and as a dispersing agent in preparations of agricultural chemicals.

Diethanolamine is also used in metalworking fluids for cutting, stamping and die-casting operations as a corrosion inhibitor.

Mix all the above ingredients in a spice blender. Mix really well till it becomes a fine powder. Store in an airtight dark glass bottle. Take a small amount of this mixture in the palm of your hand. Moisten your toothbrush, dip in the mixture and brush. Triphala is astringent in nature and it may take you a little while to get used to this powder.
