Titanium Dioxide does not have any benefit apart from making the toothpaste appear bright white. It is suspected to be a carcinogen and could cause non reproductive organ toxicity .

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗻 is a pesticide added to many brands of toothpaste as an antibacterial agent. Tricloscan could also contribute to creating strains of bacteria that could be antibiotic-resistant.

Here is a method of making DIY tooth powder at home :

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 :

1. 2 tablespoons Triphala powder

2. 1/4 teaspoon Neem Powder

3. 1/4 teaspoon Clove powder

4. 1/4 teaspoon Tulsi powder

5. 1/8 teaspoon Black pepper powder

6. 1/2 teaspoon Coarse Sea salt or pink salt

7. 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon powder

𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 :

Mix all the above ingredients in a spice blender. Mix really well till it becomes a fine powder. Store in an airtight dark glass bottle. Take a small amount of this mixture in the palm of your hand. Moisten your toothbrush, dip in the mixture and brush. Triphala is astringent in nature and it may take you a little while to get used to this powder. The good news is that this tooth powder is chemical free. All suggested ingredients should be available in your organic store or via online.
