Ayurveda* believes that Digestion gets kindled with the rising of the sun and is strongest when the Sun is strongest ie around noon time. Therefore, its suggested to have the biggest and most difficult to digest foods ie brocccoli, beans, whole wheat bread etc for lunch as it's the time of day when you have the most, the highest amount of hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes functioning in the system.
*Ayurveda is one of the oldest systems of traditional natural healing in the world. Also known as the sister of Yoga, it stresses deeply on nutrition and lifestyle for optimal health. Ayurveda believes that there are three bio energies ie Vata ( Air and Ether Elements), Pitta ( Fire and Water ) and Kapha ( Earth and Water) within the body and their balance or imbalance determines the state of good or ill health .
