Warm Water and Herbal Tea Could Help With Constipation | Yoga of Eating

Keeping oneself adequately hydrated is not only necessary for good Digestion but is necessary for good health and well being. Drinking warm water and herbal decoctions in sips throughout the day are a great way to not only hydrate but to pacify an aggravated vata which could be the cause of the dry type of constipation . The dry type of constipation is when the stools are dry and hard and often rabbit pellet like. Drinking a decoction using spices such as cumin, cinnamon, Ginger etc can be helpful. One could drink these teas at least 20 minutes before or 1 hour after eating. The choice of herbs / spices should depend on the season , constitution etc of the person.
